Free Social Media Audit Template for Freelancers
Word + Excel

What this is
Who it's for: Freelancers auditing their own accounts, or running a paid audit for a client.
Find out what your social profiles actually say, what your content did, who your audience is and where competitors leave a gap — then turn the findings into prioritised actions.
Free in full — download it and use it on your own freelance work.
This is NOT a Canva template. There are no Canva links, no PSD files and no editable-design-file claims anywhere in this pack. An audit shows what happened; it cannot promise followers, clients or income, and this pack makes no such promise. It contains no industry benchmarks — your own past audit is the baseline.

Questions
What is in the Word guide?
Profile health checks, the content audit method, audience audit questions, a competitor gap audit, prioritised recommendations, a client-ready report page and a 30-day action plan.
What does the workbook calculate?
Totals, averages, growth, engagement rates and priority labels are calculated by formulas as you type, across six sheets.
Is this a caption pack or content calendar?
No. Those tools help you create posts. This template does the opposite job: it audits what you already posted and turns the findings into actions.
Can I use competitor research from the audit directly?
Competitor research here is for learning an approach, never for copying another person's text, images or branding.
What if a formula shows an error?
First check that you deleted the example rows cleanly and that numbers are typed as numbers, not text. If it still fails, report the file name and the exact error and it will be fixed or replaced.
